Rio de Janeiro and Central Denmark join the DC network

From the USA to China and Scotland to India, the Districts of Creativity Network spans the globe and continues to grow. During the political meeting of the Creativity World Forum on Monday 15 November the founding Districts of Creativity unanimously admitted Central Denmark and Rio de Janeiro as new members of the Districts of Creativity Network.

Central Denmark Region is the largest of the five Danish regions. The region has a thriving business community with specific strengths within information technology, sustainable energy production, processing of foodstuffs and advanced manufacturing industry. In addition, the university and research facilities are of a high international standard. The region is well served by digital services and a physical infrastructure that includes highways as well as two international airports, and Denmark’s largest container harbour.

The city of Rio de Janeiro is known for its tropical landscape, carnival and soccer. These are among their best assets, but they are far from being the only ones. Rio hosts headquarters to brazilian leading companies in the creative economy sectors, such as audiovisual, movies and design, as well as major oil & gas, mining, media and telecommunications companies. We have some of the best universities in Latin America, congregate a modern creative industry cluster and have one of the most qualified labor forces in the country. Rio is a city that holds the best in creativity, nature and business. And that was elected "world's happiest city" by Forbes Magazine.
