The Polycity Project
Visions of Sustainable Urban Energy Systems is the topic of Polycity's International Final Conference. Highly efficient urban quarters with renewable energy supply projects from all over the world will be presented at the final conference.
POLYCITY is a project of the CONCERTO initiative, co-funded by the European
Commission. In the course of the POLYCITY project, three sustainable urban areas
in Germany, Spain and Italy are being developed, focusing on energy efficient buildings,
the use of renewable energies and large scale energy management systems.
A highlight of the first conference day is our evening guest speaker Dr. Franz Alt,
author, journalist and TV editor. He speaks about cities of the future followed by
a big POLYCITY conference party with live music and buffet.
Citynet
CITYNET is an european graduate school on urban energy management funded
by the European Marie Curie Programme. Eight universities from Germany, Spain,
Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, Ireland and Turkey cooperate on the development
of internet based urban energy management systems.
The CITYNET workshop will demonstrate the internet based design and operation
tools for energy efficient urban management. You can learn how to use integrated
building design tools with renewable supply simulations and real time data access
for optimisation.
The POLYCITY excursion showcases the project area Scharnhauser Park. Visit the
ORC biomass power plant, energy efficient public and residential buildings and
an office building with a district heating powered absorption chiller.
