I-POD Project

 

I-POD the international traineeship program for recent graduated product developers and industrial designers

The I-POD Project offers recent graduates in the fields of product development and industrial design the opportunity to perform an internship of 6 months with a company abroad. This project is financed by the Leonardo da Vinci Mobility Fund of the European Union.
 

Flemish participants (young professionals with a master degree in product development and industrial design) get the opportunity to do an internship in a company abroad. During this internship the trainee will design & develop products in an industrial company or in a design company. While designing & developing products the trainee will have to focus on sustainable design and try to incorporate some sustainable design principles.

Grant

Each trainee will obtain a grant from the European Commission as this project is financed by the Leonardo Da Vinci Mobility Fund. This grant will consist of a fixed fee for travel and lodging depending of the duration of the internship and the location (generally between 204€ and 242€/week).

Profile of the participants

Participants must hold a Master degree in product development and industrial design. They will be recruited among graduates of one of the three following, highly renomated design schools in Flanders:

Company requirements

  • Located in one of the European DC regions (Catalunya, Baden-Württemberg, Lombardia, Nord-Pas de Calais, Scotland, Rhône-Alpes or Tampere).
  • Focus on product development and industrial design.
  • Strong interest in international dimension and sustainable design.
  • Each trainee should have a mentor.
  • Company must clearly define what the task of the trainee will be upfront; will the trainee work on a specific project, which field, etc.
  • Company must be experienced or have great interest in sustainable design.
